  15. Disk organization
  16. Easytrax is now delivered on four (rather than
  17. three) 360K floppy disks. The disk called 'Drivers'
  18. contains the current set of graphics drivers and
  19. some of the Print/Plot drivers that did not fit on
  20. the 'Plot' diskette.

  22. Running Easytrax using two floppy disk drives
  23. (supercedes procedures, described on page 14-15)
  24.  
  25. To start the program
  26.   Insert the Edit disk into drive A;
  27.   Insert the Library disk into drive B;
  28.   From the DOS prompt, type PATH B: then press
  29. RETURN;
  30.   Type EASYEDIT then press RETURN to start the
  31. program;
  32.  
  33. Once Easyedit is running you can remove the Edit
  34. disk and use drive A for loading and saving your
  35. workfiles. You can set the current path back to
  36. drive A using the Files/Path command from within
  37. Easyedit. Before you Quit Easyedit, you should
  38. always re-set the File/Path command back to B: so
  39. that the EASYEDIT.DFT file is saved in the same
  40. volume as the EASYEDIT.OVR file. A description of
  41. the .DFT file is provided on page 22 of the manual.

  45. New graphics drivers
  46. Since publication of the supplement have added new
  47. drivers for the ATI VGA Wonder card and the
  48. Paradise EGA480 card. The drivers are labelled
  49. WOND800.DRV (800x600), WOND1024 (1024x768, Revision
  50. 5 cards only) and PEGA480 (640x480). There are a
  51. number of cards that use the PEGA480 chipset.

  54. Memory management
  55. If memory is a problem, make sure that your
  56. operating system is as 'bare' as possible - disable
  57. network software and any TSRs (other than EMS/Mouse
  58. drivers), etc. If memory is still a problem you may
  59. need to consider additional EMS.

  62. Repeat Placement with metric grids
  63. If you are using the Repeat Placement
  64. feature with some fractional metric
  65. grids, the Offsets applied to repeats
  66. can result in some unexpected
  67. placements. This is because the metric
  68. value must be rounded off to two decimal
  69. places. For example the default 25 mil
  70. imperial grid is equal to approx .625
  71. mm, rounded-off to .63 mm by Autotrax.
  72. If you attempt a repeat placement of a
  73. row of pads, this rounding-off will
  74. result in a cumulative error in spacing
  75. as successive pads are placed. The
  76. solution is to use even multiples of the
  77. current snap grid as offsets OR to work
  78. on a 'natural' grid pitch, i.e. .5 mm or
  79. .6 mm OR to stay on the imperial grid,
  80. rather than switching to metric prior to
  81. repeat placement.

  84. Easyplot - version 2.06

  89. Roland 1000 Series plotters
  90. A new plot driver has been added for these popular
  91. plotter models (DXY 1100, 1200, 1300, etc).

  93.     It is called ROLAND RD-GL I.

  95. This supersedes the information in the manual.
  96. However, you should make sure that all
  97. communications parameters are matched between the
  98. program and the plotter.

  101. Improved Path Handling in Easyplot
  102. When you select the Setup/(Plotter, Printer or
  103. PostScript)/Type, to choose a driver, a window
  104. opens allowing you to specify the directory. The
  105. default directory is now always the Easyplot home
  106. directory.

  108. Naming of output files:
  109. The name of the current .PCB file is automatically
  110. applied to output files, as when plotting to a
  111. filename (rather than directly to a port).

  115. The following PostScript options are supported
  116. by the current version of the Easyplot
  117. program:
